“The fireplace in the Entrance Hall was put in by Mrs Van der Elst. Originally there was a huge open iron stove which was lit whenever the Hunt met at Harlaxton or there was a shoot on. The most enormous logs were used to burn on it.
There used to be armour in the Entrance Hall, but none of the furnishings from Mr Pearson Gregory’s occupation remain.”
