“This room used to be Mr Pearson-Gregory’s Study. It had a huge fireplace and a very large desk. He used this room every day. His bedroom was next door, and as soon as he got up in the morning he came into his study.”
Principal’s Office
“The Principal’s Office contains hidden cupboards in the window recess which housed Mr Pearson Gregory’s fishing rods. The small cupboard contained his clothes, waders and guns, also his hip bath. He used to have a hip bath every evening. The hot water was brought up by a footman. The wallpaper in the room is original…
The four rooms made up a complete suite, with the lavatory situated in the cupboard in the corridor [now stationery store].
All the shutters in the Manor were closed at night by the Butler, and opened the next morning by the Housemaid before breakfast.”
