Story of the Manor

This collaborative exhibition was produced by the Harlaxton College Spring 2016 Gallery Studies class. Keaton Douglas, Titianna Folson, Brianna Jackson, Sarah Linder, Madeline Mettler and Rebecca Webb worked with Professor Kristina Arnold (Western Kentucky University) and Harlaxton Librarian Linda Dawes to document the History of Harlaxton. Students completed a survey of all published information and conducted primary research in the Harlaxton Manor Archives, locating artefacts and information in order to illustrate and interpret the Manor’s history throughout its many phases.

The project physically existed in the Manor through the summer of 2016, and has extended its reach through inclusion on this site. Thanks to the students’ research, this site now also includes many of the archived primary research documents pertaining to Harlaxton Manor’s history. The class would like to particularly thank Dr. Edward Bujak for sharing his tireless enthusiasm and extensive knowledge on the Manor’s WWI and WWII history.

This exhibition is dedicated to the memory of Stephanie Marcotte (1995 – 2016), University of Evansville archaeology major and Spring 2016 Harlaxton student. Her commitment to learning and to life is an inspiration to all who knew her.
