To The Trenches We Go!

This drawn map of Harlaxton Park is layered with detailed lines depicting the trenches British Soldiers dug on Manor property during WWI. The layout of the trenches indicates that the British prepared themselves for an ambush from Germany.  What could they be protecting?  RAF Harlaxton Airfield was located directly behind the Manor, with the trenches located in the fields in front.  These maps show communication paths and paths that soldiers would take from trench to trench.
