Aerial Reconnaissance

Both the Flying and Machine Gun Corps wanted their soldiers to master new technologies that would be pivotal in winning the war. The training of the Royal Flying Corps at the aerodrome was especially key, as they taught the soldiers not only how to fight in the planes but how to perform reconnaissance and gather information about enemy troops. This image of Harlaxton grounds was taken by pilots in training.
