Creating Strategic Trenches For War
Most of the trenches and tunnels were used for communicating with other soldiers in different parts of the field. Inlets within the trench system included a grenade store, loopholes where bombardier shelters, and bombers posts. The trenches were strategically designed to equip the soldiers the best coverage for engaging the enemy from any angle on the field.
