Reviving the Manor

After the University of Evansville purchased Harlaxton Manor, restoration and preservation began in earnest. Determined to bring back the beauty of the Manor, workers in the 1970s and 80s began reconstruction efforts, allowing students and staff to congregate and attend classes in the Conservatory, the State Dining Room, and the residential spaces. More recent additions included an updated heating system and further residential rooms in the Carriage House and two  apartments in the Gatehouse. Restoration of the Lion Terrace to the rear of the Manor was a large project.
